I just spent the better part of a month away from regular tweeting and blogging. I have done this every summer since immersing myself in this Web 2.0 world. Of course, I can’t always totally disconnect–I do “sneak peeks” at my email, twitter, and a few news sites. I know some of my tweeps consider their Life 1.0 and Web 2.0 lives as rather seamlessly integrated by now, but I do not. Every so often I feel this need to “go walkabout” from my virtual life and live untethered. I’ve read a few more print books, played more with my kids, and worked more in my garden. So, today I’m wondering about rest and recharge time. How much do YOU need (if any at all)? Why? When? How often?

Yes, I’m still around. I haven’t been able to blog much lately as commitments in my classroom have consumed my time-prepping students for the AP exam, releasing our trout, and prepping for a trip to Costa Rica….whew. I need some time for reflection. I just wrapped up a neat project where my seniors taught Kindergarteners and 1st graders. I hope to be back to share soon.

Writers block this week…I’ve managed a post a week since this started, but this week I’m struggling. Life 1.0 is dominating my attention this week, so not much time to follow up things in my Twitter feed or blogs I follow…
I often wonder how some prolific Twitterers I follow manage to find the time to stay omnipresent on Web 2.0. Are they addicted? Bored? Lonely? Trying hard to maintain a personal brand?
That’s all I got.
