Welcome to the Global Studies Blog!

The Global Studies Blog was designed by the Global Studies Diploma Program class of 2010, is administered by Jessica Henrikson, and is updated by each current class of GSD seniors.  Participation on the blog includes all GSD students, and we invite faculty, parents, and other members of the PDS community to contribute.  We created this blog with the hopes of facilitating discussion among GSD students, keeping students well informed about events and opportunities, and sharing global related experiences.  We hope you enjoy!

Why Visit?

For Students:

  • Students are able to get an idea of what other students are doing to fulfill extracurricular requirements and activities out of the classroom
  • Students may use the blog to share experiences abroad
  • GSD students are able to access important documents online
  • Students planning their schedules are able to reference past GSD students’ schedules to get an idea of how to plan coming years

For Visitors:

  • Through the blog, visitors are able to get a snapshot of the extracurricular experiences of GSD students
  • Visitors may also share their thoughts about the program or other insights on the blog
  • Visitors are able to assuage certain misconceptions or get questions answered through the FAQ page


Why blog?

Well, there are a number of reasons we are asking the PDS community and GSD students to participate:

  • To remember, recount, and share what happened at an event or lecture. We call these “Experience Posts.” They can be posted at the homepage and tagged under the category “Experiences.”
  • To offer a question or comment about a Global Issue on the “Global Issue of the Month.” Other members of the PDS community are encouraged to comment or debate on the blogs.
  • To share something of interest or a current event.
  • To ask questions about the GSD Program, events, or curriculum.
